This position services the receipt, storage, inventorying and distribution of perishable and non-perishable items for all three College campuses.

Duties:
  • Reports to the Director, Business Services
  • Receives and distributes packages to all campus locations and departments
  • Unloads deliveries, signs for delivered materials; maintains and updates a delivery activity log for accurate accounting of all deliveries made and distributed to/from the location
  • Conducts check of merchandise received and reviews items in management information system to assure accuracy against purchase orders
  • Dispenses a variety of Central Stores material (office supplies, copier supplies etc.)
  • Expedites delivery of critical items including perishable product
  • Delivers reproduced material as required
  • Delivers and picks up U.S. mail to/from the post office daily; delivers to all Atlantic Cape campuses and other locations as assigned
  • Assists with physical inventory of fixed assets
  • Serves as backup for the receiving, central stores, mailroom and print shop areas when needed
  • Receives food vendor deliveries against the purchase order (PO) and checks against the vendor packing slip for grades, size, date of pack and brand names, inspecting deliveries for wholesomeness and confirming quantities by weight and report any discrepancies to Director.
  • Transfer bulk perishable and non-perishable items up to 50 lbs. in weight to refrigerator, freezer, shelf or cart for transfer to the kitchens
  • Applies accurate pricing to ingredients for stocking
  • Fills requisitions for chef educators with accurate counts or weights for each ingredient and applies accurate pricing
  • Maintains the evening operations and closing of the storeroom as needed
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment
  • Related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Business/Accounting training a plus
  • Knowledge of food products such as types and cuts of meats/poultry, types of fish, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, condiments, etc.
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds and work in a chilled environment
  • Must pass an employment physical examination administered through the college’s health office
  • Knowledge of safely handing various food products; Serv-Safe certification a plus
  • Knowledge of office and bookkeeping procedures preferred
  • Possession of a valid N.J. driver’s license and a vehicle to run errands, reimbursed by the college
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office; Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague system a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively

This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
